Anoushka Shankar Anoushka Shankar, a British American singer and musician, is well known for her songs. She is also the youngest and first woman to be awarded an award from the British House of Commons Award. Anoushka Shankar is one of India's most promising stars on the sitar. She is a student and daughter to Ravi Shankar. She spent her childhood bouncing around from London to New Delhi. In New Delhi, she made her debut when she was only thirteen years old. In Encinitas California in 1999, she was awarded a high-school degree. Anouskha still has a promising career in recording and performing even though she's young. Her father has accompanied her in many performances for several years. In 1998, she released her first solo album Anourag. The Grammy Award-winning live at Carnegie Hall was released two years following her debut solo album. Stage performances are a important aspect of her life. She's played in many major venues all over the world. Anoushka isn't just a musician. The year 2003 saw her appeared in Dance Like a Man as the Bharat Natyam artist. Anoushka is still progressing in her professional career, and there will be many more things to come from this talented woman. Anoushka Shankar was born and raised in England and spent much of her childhood in London and Delhi later relocating to California in the state where she attended the high school. Anoushka Shankar began her musical studies when she was nine. After four years, she made her music debut with the sitar Delhi during her father's 75th birthday celebration. As a part of her dad's band as they toured around the globe, Anoushka had a wealth of experiences appearing on stage at Carnegie Hall while still in her teens, performing in Peter Gabriel's WOMAD festival as well as making recordings with George Harrison. The youngest female to be awarded the House of Commons Shield, given by the British Parliament in recognition of her musicianship and artistry in the Asian Arts.
